Dark Souls 3″ PC server just a month later again paralyzed

The PC servers for Dark Souls 3 have been down again less than a month after coming back online. Developer FromSoftware has confirmed that there are “problems” logging into the RPG via Steam and is investigating the issue, but that’s all we know so far.

“We are currently seeing issues when playing Dark Souls III online on the Steam platform.” From Software said in a statement posted on Twitter. We are currently investigating the cause of the issue and will let you know as soon as we know more.”

For now, all we know is that there is a problem, that it is preventing people from playing Dark Souls III online, and that From is investigating.

Server downtime is a common problem for games with online capabilities, but this shutdown is particularly frustrating for Dark Souls players. This is because the servers just came back online a month after the developer shut down all three Dark Souls games earlier this year due to a common exploit.

FromSoftware has not said if this shutdown is related to the reasons for the January shutdown, and the PC versions of Dark Souls, Dark Souls Remastered, and Dark Souls II are still closed. However, online features of Dark Souls III, such as PvP, Co-op, and Ghost Choke, were again unavailable during the downtime. You can still play the game, but it will be a much lonelier experience without that little doodle.

We’ll keep an eye on this story as it develops.
