Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier is shutting down for next year

Image
In a rather shocking announcement, Square Enix has decided to discontinue development of the mobile fighting game Final Fantasy 7: First Warrior. The title was announced in February 2021, marking the 25-year-old franchise’s entry into the world of upcoming fighting games. The First Warrior received a tremendous response to its beta test, with pre-registration opening shortly thereafter. In just four days, the game attracted more than 500,000 pre-registrations, and in 10 days, more than 1 million pre-registrations, with a final total of more than 2 million registrations by the time the game launched on November 17, 2021. And now, less than a year after its launch – a rather short period of time, especially for a live-service game – Square Enix has decided to shut it down. They posted a tweet a few hours ago mentioning that First Warrior will end its life on January 11, 2023 at 7:00 UTC. They also posted a notice announcing the end of service and explained the work behind having to

Bayonetta 3 New Trailer Release

Image
Bayonetta 3 will be released later this month on October 28 – Umbra Witches this month! It’s crazy to think that we didn’t know when this game was coming until September 2021, and now it’s almost here. The first video is a relatively brief overview of the sequel’s new content, including a rather fancy “Demon Masquerade” mechanic, environmental puzzles, side events, and the introduction of the Embryo as the game’s primary currency. The second video, if you turn your eyes down, introduces a new playable character, Viola, the Umbra witch. Equipped with a sword, Viola does not have access to a variety of weapons like Bayonetta, but she can use a throwing knife for long-range combat and can also call upon her demon cat Cheshire for tricky in-game situations. It was also mentioned that Viola has slightly slower controls than Bayonetta, but has improved strength to compensate. Another thing is that the trailer is gorgeous, especially Viola’s performance. If there were any visual concerns

Mobile Suit Gundam The Witch From Mercury Episode 3—Guel’s Pride

Image
Episode 3 begins with Mio reiterating to Slater (“Su”) that they must win the upcoming duel in order to stay in school and keep their engagement. Mio says that the marriageable age is 17 and that they intend to leave for Earth before then, so they will just have to hold out until then. At school, Nika asks about her cyborg, and when Guru comes to tell her they will fight, she accidentally triggers him. Meanwhile, Shaddick studies her cover story and her father tells her to watch out for Sue, but she doesn’t mind because she seems to be having fun. Then Ilan comes to take her to the dueling committee and uses it as an excuse to exchange contact information with her, number 12 on the list. The two discuss the details of the duel and set the stakes. Sue asks Güell to apologize to Mio, and Güell, as before, asks her to leave the school. When Gül takes the bet, another member of the group, Cecelia, scolds her, saying that her parents are so powerful that they can undo the outcome of the

Scorn—Beautifully Grotesque Puzzle

Image
There are no textual cues, dialogues, or maps in “Scorn” and though we move through the world by organic exploration, hope, luck, and more, this cycle of life feels surprisingly familiar. Before the opening hour is over, after prying odd shapes out of rotten eggs and pulling organic weapons from umbilical holsters, you’ll be soaked in so much thick latex that you’ll fall into a coma. As such, “Scorn” is replete with phallic imagery and action. The protagonist is a half-dead humanoid body wandering around a (mostly) uninhabited alien world, endlessly thrusting his weapon through mysterious holes and sticking his fingers into fleshy control panels. There are holes, tubes, and protruding plungers that would make Freud blush, all openly inspired by the nightmarish dreams of the melancholy H. R. Giger and Zdzislaw Beksinski. But “Scorn” is not a horror film. At least, not what some people consider a horror film these days. Instead, it relies on an ominous soundtrack and (admittedly exce

SPY X FAMILY Cour 2 Episode 14—Disarm the Time Bom

Image
Episode 14 of SPY X FAMILY begins with Yor and Keith staring at each other. Keith is confused by Yor’s success in taking down Kurt and states that she is Anya’s mother. He orders a dog to attack Yor, but Yor exudes a frightening atmosphere that causes the canines to retreat. More people begin to appear, causing Keith to flee the scene, leaving the white dog with Yor and Anya. Yor tries to chase Keith, but stops. She realizes that chasing Keith will cause Anya to flee her again. yor decides to stay on the scene and ties Kurt with a leash. Anya informs Yor of the situation involving the terrorists and the bomb dog. yor comically examines the white dog to see if it has a bomb on it. Thankfully, he doesn’t. Anya apologizes for running off without Yor’s permission, but Yor is glad she’s okay. Yor then rushes to a nearby phone booth to give the police the details. While Yor is on the phone, Anya reads the white dog’s mind and finds him peering into the future again. Anya sees everyone sm

Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 Episode 2—The Threat of a Hundred Demons

Image
This episode depicted a common development in the early part of each season, where the mob assists a client with a spiritual vision and ultimately fights the demon. This client is a crossover killer, but he is a very fun client because he doesn’t have the meanness that many of Reigen’s clients have. He believes Reigen is his friend and says buzzwords to make himself look smart, which Reigen is quick to point out. Reigen is always funny and hypocritical, pointing out the misdeeds of others. Mob Psycho 100 always makes these battles interesting with great animation and interesting internal monologues from each character during the battles. In this case, the mob is concerned about the cultural festival, but manages to perform the Hyakki Yagyo without difficulty. The episode is relatively lighthearted and won’t have much of an impact on future seasons, but clearly there is a reason here and it is subtly woven throughout. The mob is troubled by the school presentation, but this time t

Chainsaw Man Episode 1 rules social media

Image
Chainsaw Man is finally here! Fans of the series have taken to Twitter to express their love for the series’ premiere opening and the gore that the animation brings. The anime of the year did not disappoint fans, and the premiere exceeded their expectations. From the very first episode, Tatsuki Fujimoto’s “Chainsaw Man” immediately won the hearts of viewers with its funky opening and beautiful animation. The episode itself was something of a love letter from MAPPA to Fujimoto, as the adaptation of the first chapter of the manga was better than expected and fans wanted to see more. Even before the anime’s first broadcast, MAPPA posted the opening on social media. The opening is a fan favorite, and it is wonderful in that it shows each character’s personality beautifully, without being too much like the manga. Tatsuki Fujimoto is a big movie buff, as he is known for his one-shot gag manga “Sayonara Eri. Thus, the opening itself is inspired by several movie scenes, as the characters
