Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier is shutting down for next year

In a rather shocking announcement, Square Enix has decided to discontinue development of the mobile fighting game Final Fantasy 7: First Warrior. The title was announced in February 2021, marking the 25-year-old franchise’s entry into the world of upcoming fighting games.

The First Warrior received a tremendous response to its beta test, with pre-registration opening shortly thereafter. In just four days, the game attracted more than 500,000 pre-registrations, and in 10 days, more than 1 million pre-registrations, with a final total of more than 2 million registrations by the time the game launched on November 17, 2021.

And now, less than a year after its launch – a rather short period of time, especially for a live-service game – Square Enix has decided to shut it down. They posted a tweet a few hours ago mentioning that First Warrior will end its life on January 11, 2023 at 7:00 UTC.

They also posted a notice announcing the end of service and explained the work behind having to make such a big decision in a relatively short period of time. Square Enix stated.” While we have worked hard to regularly deliver fresh and exciting content, we have been unable to deliver the experience we hoped for and that you deserve, and have made the extremely difficult decision to end service for Final Fantasy 7: First Warrior.”

Players have been touched by a considerable amount of activity, including Christmas celebrations, Valentine’s Day, and multiple updates and collaborations with other Final Fantasy titles. We have released four seasons so far and are currently working on the Feast of the Golden Saucer. We have also begun our Halloween event, which ends today.

However, with less than three months to go until the final title, it seems that more than 2 million downloads are not enough. Starting today, Shinra coins will disappear from the store, leaving only coins on hand. Support for other languages will end on November 1, with everything ending in January of next year.

The first “Dead Space” remake game trailer is still a surprise

The first gameplay trailer for the upcoming “Dead Space” remake has finally been released, and I can tell you this. This is definitely Dead Space.
