October is the season of soup, pumpkins, and apples, and Halloween is the season of candy that kids dream about. Do you know what the problem is? All of this spooky fun is reserved for October 31, and no one wants to wait a whole 30 days for that fun. So I say, since Halloween may be different for many people this year, why not add some spooky fun to the rest of the month? Here are some super fun dinners I’m making every day, transforming recipes into gross and creepy things (in name only). For example, I made Hawaiian meatballs on white rice in the slow cooker and turned them into “zombie brains with maggots”. It was disgusting, but the kids loved it. I remember eating this “worms in the dirt” dessert as a child, and I thought it was “gross” just like my kids. Frankly, if a child eats something and says it is “gross,” it is well received by the mom. What’s the best part about this recipe? Aside from the blissful taste of cinnamon sugar apple donuts at first bite, this recipe is foolproof and super easy. It requires only four ingredients: pink lady apples (or any other red apple), yogurt, sugar, and self-rising flour. Peel and thinly slice the apples. Place apples and yogurt in a large food processor and process 3. until apples are completely chopped and well mixed with yogurt. Add the yogurt-apple mixture to the self-rising flour mixture and mix well with a spatula to avoid over-mixing. Transfer to a large, round, piping bag fitted with a large round tip, and cut off both ends. The dough/batter for the donuts should look loose. (See video for firmness.) If the dough looks dry, you may add a spoonful of milk. Transfer to a squeeze bag fitted with a round tip. Heat oil to 170°C and fry the fritters in batches until golden brown. Fortnite’s EvoChrome weapon is one of the most interesting new additions to the epic combat game. With each new season comes interesting new mechanics and weapons that become more powerful over time and are a lot of fun to use. Season 4 of Chapter 3 is already an interesting season thanks to Fortnite’s new weapons in general, but especially the chrome. The chrome is rapidly devouring the island and has become a usable item, but it’s also the core of the Evochrome, a weapon that gets stronger the more you use it. It’s fun to get an unpopular weapon at the start of the game, and it can be really scary when there is only one left. It’s nice to see that weapons that used to take a lot of time and effort to upgrade can now be upgraded more easily. The Evochrome weapons have a great buff to them. The upcoming Total War: Warhammer 3 is due to arrive around October 18, and when it does, you can expect a new possible crisis ending for the United Empire of Immortals campaign. The Creative Assembly has suggested that the fantasy strategy game’s next apocalyptic scenario will feature sky soldiers in some form that could be very much in line with the canonical ending for the world of Warhammer a few years ago along the same lines. In the patch notes for Total War: Warhammer III hotfix 2.1.2, Creative Assembly notes that it expects to release update 2.2 on October 18, and provides a general list of the changes we can expect from that patch. For example, it should fix the crash at the end and make some much-needed improvements to enemy AI and combat in the settlements. Activision’s lawsuit demands that the publishers of the FPS “Modern Warfare 2” and RPGs “Diablo” and “World of Warcraft” pay the money earned by the EngineOwning site for the “Call of Duty” and “Battlefield” fraud as “damages Activision is demanding that the sites be paid in full as “damages,” as well as other damages and that the sites be shut down for fraudulent activities. Activision initially filed suit against EngineOwning in January, demanding $2,500 for each violation of Activision’s Terms of Use by EngineOwning, as well as a claim that the German site was “trafficking in circumvention devices” and that Activision and it’s accused it of causing “intentional interference with the contractual relationship” between gamers. Apex Legends’ campaign Fight or Fright, one of the best fighting games on PC, returns for a month-long Halloween celebration. Although it did not appear in 2021 and was replaced by Monsters Within, Fight or Fright returns for its third year. The event will offer a variety of spooky Apex Legends skins and limited-time Apex Legends rotating modes, including the wildly popular new “Gun Run” mode (featured in the “Beast Hunt” event), the nightmarish “Shadow Royale,” and fan favorite “Control.” Apex Legends Fight or Fright will be live from October 4 through November 1. Each week, there will be a high-profile LTM for players to participate in, as well as unique skins and bundles for sale. Sales of “Cyberpunk 2077” have been boosted significantly by the appearance of the popular Netflix animated series “Cyberpunk – Edge Runners”. Since the show’s release, the number of RPG players on Steam has steadily increased, and now publisher CD Projekt Red has announced that “Cyberpunk 2077” has sold over 20 million units. That’s a pretty big number for a game that had a poor first year on last-gen consoles, with performance issues, bugs that hampered progress, and missing features. To make matters worse, CD Projekt was subsequently hit with a serious cyber attack and multiple class action lawsuits. Keep in mind, however, that the bulk of that $20 million was made within weeks of its launch. Cyberpunk 2077 launched on December 10, 2020, and by New Year’s Eve had sold 13.7 million copies, about two-thirds of its current total.
