Downright Delish Jack-O’-Lantern

Halloween was here before we knew it, and although it is only one day at the end of October, it is common for Halloween lovers to start decorating their doorsteps with pumpkin lanterns and holding Halloween-inspired events throughout the month of October.
Recently, pumpkin carving recipes have become popular on Pinterest, TikTok, and Instagram, and Halloween pumpkin-shaped treats are also very popular. So, here are some of our favorite pumpkin face dishes to impress your guests this year. But first, we will cover how pumpkin lanterns are formed.
The name “jack-o-lantern” originally comes from Ireland, where a large turnip or potato is used as a canvas. It is also related to the legendary Irish drunkard Scrooge Jack, and it is said that the Irish carved scary faces on turnips to ward off Scrooge Jack’s wandering spirit. When the Irish came to America, they began carving faces on pumpkins native to the region.
