Modern Warfare 2 Beta Developer Takes Sanctions for Call of Duty Cheating

The full beta of “Modern Warfare 2” has ended, bringing with it players who have been using “Call of Duty” cheats to make the experience worse for other players. Rest assured, however, that developer Infinity Ward is aware of the problem and will soon begin to address it so that players can enjoy this crazy FPS game in its original play style.

Cheats and hacking are always a problem with even the best multiplayer games, but that doesn’t mean that developers aren’t willing to stand up against it, and Infinity Ward is no exception. The company will take action as early as today against the Call of Duty cheats that are endemic in the “Modern Warfare 2” beta.

“Tomorrow we will begin taking practical action against cheaters and hackers in the beta game,” Infinity Ward tweeted yesterday.
No specifics were given as to what this “real-world situation” will look like, but one can only assume that a ban hammer is about to fall, which will surprise many players. Wall-hacks and aimers are rampant in the shooter, allowing some players to see us through walls and hit accurate headshots as they go, which frankly defeats the purpose of the game.

The beta version of Modern Warfare 2 already has anti-cheat measures in place, and the Ricochet system is fully committed to the fight against cheats and hacks in Call of Duty. Ricochet uses server-side tools to monitor various game analytics and identify accounts using cheats and hacks. The system is currently applied to Vanguard and Battlefield and will be applied to Modern Warfare 2 and Battlefield 2.

The first “Dead Space” remake game trailer is still a surprise

The first gameplay trailer for the upcoming “Dead Space” remake has finally been released, and I can tell you this. This is definitely Dead Space. The original “Dead Space” is 14 years old, but in my mind, it looks just like this new video. The enemies, the environment, the ever-so-convenient (and clichéd) “cut off a limb” written in dirty blood on the wall. But clearly, we’ve come a long way. The original version didn’t look bad, but it has certainly aged. The remastered version looks much better, with many technical improvements, including an “intensity director” that dynamically adjusts objects, enemies, environmental effects, and even Isaac’s physical reactions.
