Modern Warfare 2 may bring back the worst villain in Call of Duty

The “Modern Warfare 2” beta is about to launch on October 28, and according to a new video released by Activision and Infinity Ward FPS, the worst and most hateful villains in the Call of Duty franchise are making a comeback and appearing for the first time in the main CoD game. Judging from the “Modern Warfare 2” beta, the next installment of “Call of Duty” is shaping up to be one of the best experiences ever, especially the new Invasion mode, despite issues with minimaps, cheaters, and deadly silent field upgrades. Details of the campaign, however, are still unknown. We do know that Price, Thorpe, Gaz, and Ghost will return to the “Modern Warfare” series and that, as always, the story will involve stopping a terrorist group threatening the United States. Beyond that, there is a lot of speculation and rumors. But the new sourcebook for “Modern Warfare 2” seems to give a stronger basis for what to expect from the next “CoD” single-player game. Potential spoilers abound.

A full list of playable characters, locations, and mission names for “Modern Warfare 2” has reportedly been obtained, with a few details, in particular, standing out. First, a mission called “Strike” will allow players to take control of Simon “Ghost” Riley, a legendary character from the original “Modern Warfare 2,” “Call of Duty: Mobile” and various “CoD” multiplayer titles.

Another “Backstab” mission in “Modern Warfare 2,” set in Mexico, is exactly what General Shepard, voiced by Lance Henriksen in the first “MW2” mission “Loose Ends,” did to Ghost and Roach, just as he did in 2009 It suggests the possibility of a disastrous ending. It is possible that Shepherd will be resurrected. Ghost may be killed again. It is also possible that Infinity Ward will reopen old wounds from 13 years ago. I hope not, but the details captured by Insider Gaming certainly suggest that it is a possibility. We’ll just have to wait until October 28.

The first gameplay trailer for the upcoming “Dead Space” remake has finally been released, and I can tell you this. This is definitely Dead Space.
