Valkyrie Elysium Launch Trailer Released
The first trailer for Valkyrie – Elysium didn’t give us much information, but it did stir up some details about the game.
From the beginning of the trailer, we see several abandoned and decaying buildings, and eventually, a woman standing in a field. We are asked the question, “In an unfair world, what would you choose?” The question is posed to us. The woman (who appears to be a Valkyrie) tries to recruit what looks like a kneeling soldier, but we don’t get a good look at the soldier.
The next part is all playful. An off-screen voice appears and warns that Ragnarok is ravaging the world and that whoever “he” is, he wants the Valkyrie to intervene as his instrument and save the world from total destruction. A shot of Valkyrie bowing to a blond man sitting on a high throne (presumably the narrator we heard earlier) is shown, but again, his face is not shown.
After the title drop and before the trailer ends, a shot is shown of Valkyrie calling out to an enemy in full armor and masks, asking him who he is. The man’s smile and the two frames suggest some kind of rivalry.
The game’s official website gives only a brief synopsis of the game, so we don’t know what kind of plot we can expect. It says, “Long ago, Ragnarok – the time of the end – enveloped the entire kingdom. The Almighty Father used the last of his power to create a messenger of salvation. From there, a new Valkyrie story begins. ・・・・・・.”
The best information we can gather right now is that you play as a nominal Valkyrie and somehow prevent Ragnarok from happening.
